The Juice Box Bully is written by Bob Sornson and Maria Dismondy / Illustrated by Kim Shaw. In this book, Pete starts a new school and his classmates were very nice to him but he wasn't so nice back. Pete ruined the soccer game and squirted juice onto a little boys shirt. Pete's classmates tell him that his hateful behavior isn't ok because the class made a promise, in this promise the children have agreed that they will not accept bad behavior or being hateful and it just so happens if someone acts this way that they will speak up and will ask for the help of an adult. Pete does not want to agree to their so called "Promise" but, Pete ends up telling his classmates why he didn't want to make the promise, it turns out that at Pete's old school Pete was bullied and no one ever spoke up. Ralph has decided to take a chance on Pete because of this Pete has decided to try their "Promise." The intended audience and age level for this book are ages four through twelve / grades PreK through fifth.
